International Standard Testing & Validation Services

Pektron's testing and validation laboratory provides customers with trusted, independent testing and validation services that support product development, compliance, and market readiness. Our facility operates to internationally recognised standards ISO/IEC 17025:2017, delivering accurate, repeatable, and reliable test results across electrical, EMC, and environmental disciplines.

Our capabilities have been independently assessed, providing assurance that our testing systems, procedures, equipment, and personnel meet the highest standards of technical competence. Our comprehensive testing services include voltage and electrical performance testing, EMC emissions and immunity testing, vibration and shock testing, ingress protection (IP) assessment, humidity testing, and temperature cycling. Whether supporting product development through pre-compliance evaluation or conducting formal validation programmes, our experienced engineers help customers identify issues early, reduce development risk, and accelerate time to market.

Testing Capabilities

Our award-winning Technology Centre houses our extensive range of validation equipment supporting prototype evaluation, pre-compliance testing, design verification, and product approval programmes. Full table of Types of Test and Standard Specifications available at Pektron can be found below.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

Our purpose-built EMC chamber is one of the largest privately owned facilities of its kind in the UK, providing confidence testing for both emissions and immunity. EMC testing ensures products can operate reliably within their intended electromagnetic environment without causing or suffering interference.

Capabilities include:

  • CISPR 25 compliant automotive testing
  • Radiated emissions testing up to 8GHz (chamber performance to 18GHz)
  • Radiated immunity testing up to 200V/m at 1m
  • Conducted immunity testing up to 200mA
  • Frequency range from 200kHz to 3.2GHz
  • Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) measurement technology for rapid analysis

Environmental Testing

Environmental testing validates product performance under real-world operating conditions and accelerated stress environments.

Climatic Testing

Multiple environmental chambers provide controlled testing across extreme temperature and humidity conditions.

Capabilities include:

  • Temperature range from -70°C to +180°C
  • Controlled humidity testing
  • Long-duration environmental exposure
  • Validation of seals, adhesives, potting compounds, and electronic assemblies

Thermal Shock Testing

Rapid thermal cycling identifies weaknesses caused by sudden temperature changes.

Capabilities include:

  • Temperature transition rates up to 60°C per minute
  • Independent hot and cold chambers
  • Automated transfer between temperature zones
  • Typical test ranges from -80°C to +220°C

Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)

HALT testing exposes products to extreme thermal and vibration stresses to identify design weaknesses early in development.

Capabilities include:

  • Temperature range from -100°C to +200°C
  • Thermal ramp rates up to 60°C per minute
  • Vibration up to 50G

Vibration, Shock & Mechanical Testing

Our vibration and shock testing systems simulate years of operational stress within compressed test cycles. These tests help validate product reliability in demanding environments, including automotive, off-highway, and industrial applications.

Capabilities include:

  • Vibration testing up to 50G
  • Payloads up to 50kg
  • Frequency range from 5Hz to 4,000Hz
  • Shock and bump testing
  • Mechanical durability verification

Ingress Protection (IP) Testing

Dust Testing

Our dust chamber enables repeatable ingress protection testing using a variety of industry-recognised dust types.

Capabilities include:

  • Dust ingress protection verification
  • Industrial talcum powder testing
  • Arizona desert sand testing
  • Elevated temperature exposure

Water Ingress Testing

Water resistance testing verifies product sealing performance under a range of environmental conditions.

Capabilities include:

  • Spray, jet and immersion testing
  • Multi-angle water exposure
  • Controlled pressure testing
  • Rotating test platform
  • Long-duration exposure testing

IP9K Testing

Our dedicated IP9K facility supports testing for high-pressure and high-temperature water ingress resistance.

Electrical Testing

Comprehensive electrical validation ensures products remain robust against real-world electrical disturbances.

Capabilities include:

  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing
  • Electrical transient testing
  • Voltage performance validation
  • Automotive and commercial standard compliance testing

Additional Test Facilities

Our testing capability is continually expanding and includes:

  • Push-pull force measurement up to 2.5kN
  • Altitude testing from sea level to 3,658m
  • Chemical exposure testing
  • Thermal imaging analysis
  • Custom environmental test rigs
