Supporting the wellbeing and engagement of our people is important. Steps we take to ensure our workforce is a supported and well informed community:
- A regular employee newsletter, keeping staff informed about company updates, achievements, wellbeing initiatives, and important news.
- A “Quick News” communication link, available at all times, enabling employees to easily access and share important updates and announcements.
- An employee portal, where staff can access company policies and procedures, book holidays, update personal information, and manage employment-related activities conveniently and securely.
- A confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering 24/7 support for employees and their families. This service provides professional advice and guidance for health and wellbeing, mental health concerns, financial difficulties, and other personal challenges.
- We support local charities and community initiatives through fundraising activities and participation in a variety of events, including sponsored walks, abseils, and even skydiving challenges!
- Colleagues are encouraged to recognise and support one another through our “Colleague Excellence” awards. Employees can nominate team members who have gone above and beyond, demonstrated outstanding teamwork, or made a positive impact within the business. Award recipients receive a gift and are recognised in the company newsletter, where their nomination and achievements are shared and celebrated.
Community: Pektron is proud to play an active role in the local community, supporting a number of charities, including Rainbows Hospice and encouraging staff to take part in fundraising events with our full support. We also work closely with local schools, colleges, and universities to inspire the next generation of engineers and provide opportunities for learning and career development. We support STEM education where we can, whether it is linking industry with education at university advisory board level or the local secondary school’s Landau Forte College Derby Robotics Club. In addition, we are mindful of our environmental impact and actively contribute to sustainability initiatives, including a UK woodland creation scheme.
“Working at Pektron means being part of a supportive, family-owned company where people, culture, and community really matter. We offer modern facilities, flexible working, and clear opportunities for career growth, while encouraging our team to give back through charity and local initiatives. Our people make the business, and we make sure they feel valued, connected, and inspired every day”.
