Pektron & Toyota Training Partnership

Pektron are pleased to announce that they have entered into a training partnership with Toyota Manufacturing UK and Burton and South Derbyshire College.

Two successful applicants were carefully selected from over one hundred strong candidates to each secure a four year Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship.

During the first two years of the initiative, the Pektron apprentices will receive training at the world class Apprentice Development Centre at Toyota’s vehicle manufacturing plant at Burnaston, Derbyshire.  An established and proven syllabus, combining classroom-based modular learning techniques with valuable on-the-job practical experience will be used to ensure that the highest levels of academic and practical achievements are realised.

For Years 3 and 4, highly structured and specialist technical training and development will be provided at Pektron’s advanced electronics design, development and manufacturing headquarters in Derby, United Kingdom.

At the conclusion of their training, both apprentices will be fully skilled and qualified (NVQ Level 3 or above) and will be a welcome addition to the Pektron maintenance team to support high-technology electronics manufacturing facility expansion.

Manufacturing Director Ian Harpham commented “’This is the first time Toyota Manufacturing UK have selected supply chain partners and local engineering companies for this educational initiative and Pektron are delighted to be involved.”

Harpham added “Recognising the benefits that apprenticeships have to offer our business and also the local economy, this exciting programme will provide us with a source of world class, multi-skilled and professional engineering talent which is fundamental to our continued success as a global electronics supplier.”
