Pektron Technical Centre – Top Tech and Electrical Engineers move in!

Pektron’s new Technology Centre on Alftreton Road is now open for business. Plans for a grand opening are currently on hold given the current environment but the Pektron Engineering teams have moved in to the purpose-built facility that houses a range of state of the art testing and validation technology as well as providing an inspiring office environment.
The Building
Designed by local architects Lyall & Lyall, the Pektron Technology Centre has an eye-catching design. With an angled rendered wall, floor to ceiling glazing, a 15m high atrium with a feature glass lift and contemporary fit out, all under a curved standing seam roof, the building also encorporates the latest building technology including electrochromic windows, and is energy efficient with solar panels covering 50% of the roof. Outside, multiple electric car charging points are provided in anticipation of the continued growth in the Electric Vehicle market.
The Technology
Inside the building there are vehicle bays, Engineering Labs and a brand new EMC Chamber with Rhode & Schwarz test equipment. The ability to provide comprehensive testing and validation services in-house enables Pektron to respond quickly to often demanding project delivery times, at the same time reducing costs and improving quality levels.
The Business
Pektron leads the way in designing and manufacturing innovative electronics to high value customers and well-known brands around the world. With over 56 years experience, Pektron works extensively with the Automotive sector as well as Safety, Off-Highway and Consumer industries, where high quality standards and reliability are a must.
This recent £5m investment is in line with Pektron’s long term strategy to consistently invest in its people and facilities to underpin its future success and the ability to compete in fast-moving global markets.
Robert Morgan, Engineering Director at Pektron said:
“This facility has enabled us to increase the support package for our customers so they can succeed in their own markets. With state of the art testing and validation equipment and a suitable environment for our Engineering Teams, we have continued to win new business in these challenging times“.
As global supply chains have come under pressure, big global companies have turned to Pektron for help in developing electronics that can face anything from new technical challenges in developing Electric Vehicles, to the quality demands required for the Safety and Life Support sector. Having integrated its own supply chain, investing in state of the art moulding facilities, as well as the Technical Centre, our ability to provide an end-to-end service seems to appeal and is what customers are looking for in these less certain times.
