Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson visits Pektron

Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Boris Johnson visited Pektron today, as part of his visit to Derby. He spent time looking round Pektron’s state of the art manufacturing facilities and met with key members of the electronics development and production team. His visit highlighted the importance of UK manufacturers and their role in the global economy.

Pektron is a UK based electronics manufacturer that has achieved international sales growth of 250% over the last 10 years and this year received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of consistent and outstanding growth in overseas sales.

Boris Johnson said:

“Pektron is a hidden gem of British electronics design and manufacture. It really sets the bar in terms of what we are all about, and the UK’s economic future in the global economy. It has been fabulous to be able to come and see Pektron today”.

John Potts, Sales Director at Pektron:

“Our export sales have grown consistently over recent years – we have sold electronics systems to high technology start-ups as well as established brands. As a UK manufacturer operating in a very competitive, technology-led sector, we have fought off fierce competition and exported electronics around the world, particularly to the Automotive market in America.”
