Development Support Engineer

Brief Description
We are seeking an analytical and hands-on C# Development Support Engineer to own the development, integration, and continuous improvement of our testing lifecycle. In this role, you will focus primarily on writing robust C# test software for both new and existing products. You will also take a highly active role in developing test strategies, building and debugging physical test set hardware, and setting up in-house test environments. This position bridges software automation and hardware diagnostics to ensure our production processes run at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Software Development: Focus primarily on designing and developing test software in C# to validate new and existing products.
- Hardware Development & Debugging: Develop, assemble, and debug physical test set hardware and custom support boards.
- Test Strategy & Deployment: Take an active role in defining test strategies and successfully deploying test sets across the production process.
- Environment Maintenance: Build, configure, and maintain our custom, in-house developed test environments.
- Requirements & Test Design: Analyse product requirements, define explicit test criteria, and manage test case creation and execution.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Lead engineering continuous improvement activities based on performance and yield data extracted from test equipment.
- Diagnostics & Support: Provide advanced diagnostics and problem-solving to resolve complex equipment issues and support factory technicians during breakdowns.
- Collaborative Escalation: Identify engineering blockages early and seek assistance from more experienced team members when required.
Skills and qualifications required
- C# Programming: Strong proficiency in C# development, specifically focused on test automation, script execution, or equipment control.
- Test & Quality Lifecycle: Proven experience in requirements analysis, defining test criteria, and structured test case execution.
- Hardware Familiarity: Hands-on experience developing, testing, or debugging electronic hardware or test set enclosures.
- Analytical Diagnostics: Excellent data analysis and troubleshooting skills to trace faults across both software and physical hardware.
- Proactive Mindset: Ability to take ownership of test environments while knowing when to collaborate with senior engineers on complex issues.
Desirable Attributes (Advantageous to Have)
We do not expect you to have all of these, but experience in any of the following fields would be an advantage.
- Experience establishing or expanding automated test strategies within a production line.
- Background in data analysis or statistical process control (SPC) to lead improvement projects.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field
